This year, the Sunflower Ranch invites Ukrainian communities from all corners of the USA to take part in a creative online Vertep (Nativity Play) competition!

Our goal is to promote and renew Ukrainian Christmas traditions. We encourage modern, humorous, and creative interpretations, as the Vertep has always been a living and dynamic art form.

Basic Terms and Requirements:

Age of Participants: 18+ years old.

Geography: Participants must reside in the USA.

Video Duration: 10 to 20 minutes.

Language: At least half of the Vertep must be in Ukrainian.

Number of Participants: 1 or more.

No restrictions on plot or style!

Submission Deadline: By the end of the day, December 24th.

Announcement of Results: January 10th.

Prizes

Our competition celebrates the winners with exceptional prizes from Ukrainian businesses represented in the USA.

Among the main prizes is a 2-night stay at the Sunflower Ranch, a house designed in Ukrainian style near Austin, Texas. Winners will also receive gift certificates for 10 lessons at the Ukrainian school artarea, a collection of books from Sokolya Bookstore, gifts from uart.Gallery and from the embroidered clothing store LUXART, delicious surprises from our sponsor Multicook, fragrant coffee, just like at home, from KavaOli, and other surprises.

📝 How to Participate:

  • Shoot a video of your Vertep performance for this year.

  • Upload the video, as well as the script/text of your Vertep, to a file-sharing service like Google Drive or Dropbox. Open access to the specified files for anyone with the link.

  • Fill out the official registration form via the link: google.com
